Eastwood had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They came out on top against the Canutillo Eagles by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-10 last Tuesday.

Ariana Hernandez made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 13 matchups.

In other batting news, Deja Churchill was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Samara Escobedo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Eastwood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in 15 consecutive games.

Eastwood's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Canutillo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7-1.

Eastwood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Chapin on the 1st. As for Canutillo, they have also already played their next match, a 7-0 win against Fabens on the 1st.
