Billings Senior is 9-1 against Skyview since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Billings Senior will venture away from home to take on Skyview at 3:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Billings Senior and Belgrade meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Billings Senior took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Belgrade. The loss put an end to the Broncs' undefeated start to the season.
Viennah Meyer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Octavia Meyer, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.
Meanwhile, Skyview fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Billings West on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 3-2. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Golden Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Brooklyn Arce spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Skyview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Gallardo, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Having lost for the first time this season, Billings Senior fell to 2-1. As for Skyview, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Billings Senior hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Skyview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Billings Senior's way against Skyview in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Billings Senior made off with a 14-0 victory. Will Billings Senior repeat their success, or does Skyview has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
