After flying high against the Tempe Buffaloes two weeks ago, the Mohave Thunderbirds came back down to earth. Mohave had to suffer through a rough 61-17 loss at the hands of Mohave Accelerated. Mohave was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-12.
Mohave Accelerated's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tanner Banks, who scored 19 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Banks has scored at least 25% of Mohave Accelerated's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronte Gee, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Mohave's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mohave Accelerated, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Mohave will look to defend their home court on Monday against Yuma at 5:30 p.m. As for Mohave Accelerated, they will head out on the road to face off against Parker at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
