St. Xavier has gone a perfect 5-0 against Bullitt East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Tigers will square off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Xavier has nine straight victories, Bullitt East has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It was a proper cat-fight when St. Xavier took on Bullitt Central on Saturday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 12-0 shutout. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Brodie Benefield made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Oakley Clevenger was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brilyn Hagan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
St. Xavier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bullitt Central only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Bullitt East fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Elizabethtown on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by just one run.
Chris Logan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Bullitt East saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Willard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Bullitt East's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6-1. As for St. Xavier, their record is now 19-4.
Everything went St. Xavier's way against Bullitt East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as St. Xavier made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
