Parkdale has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Wise Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Parkdale posted their closest victory yet this season on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Central out 63-61.
Parkdale can attribute much of their success to Jacob Wilson, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Freeland, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wise came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to Bladensburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-40 victory on the road. Wise has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 28 points or more this season.
Wise can attribute much of their success to Jayson Frost, who scored eight points along with five steals, and Jamal Drummond, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Alexis Obase, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Parkdale's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Wise, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Parkdale hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52.9 points per game. It's a different story for Wise, though, as they've been averaging only 68.4 points per game. The only thing between Parkdale and another offensive beatdown is Wise. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Parkdale lost to Wise at home by a decisive 79-60 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Parkdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
