The M.L. King Lions posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lithonia 43-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for M.L. King.
M.L. King got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Janaya Williams out in front who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. Alika Daugherty was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals and two blocks.
M.L. King's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14. As for Lithonia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
M.L. King won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cross Keys at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Cross Keys focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday. As for Lithonia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chamblee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chamblee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lithonia in Georgia (Chamblee is ranked 210th, while Lithonia is ranked 486th).
