Oxford simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday, as they easily beat Prouty 46-6. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Oxford, who can brag about five blowout wins.
The contest started off well for Oxford, whose offense put up 33 first-half points. Prouty countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 33-6 going into the half. The Oxford defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match. Oxford added further sheen to their flawless record, now 6-0. The loss dropped Prouty back to even at 3-3.
After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Oxford will stay at home next week against Southbridge at 7:00 PM. Oxford are cruising in on a six-game winning streak while Southbridge are stumbling in off of six consecutive losses. As for Prouty, they will face off against Uxbridge.
