Two dominant guards in Jonathan Blackburn and Caden Sandlin are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Community Christian Warriors will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Community Christian entered their tilt with High Point Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Community Christian breezed by High Point Academy at home to the tune of 79-28 on Tuesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-8.
Community Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Price Horton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 assists. Horton hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Blackburn was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, Garland Christian Academy humbled Alcuin with a 73-21 victory.
Sandlin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 45 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Doddy, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Community Christian's victory bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Garland Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Community Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 62.8 points per game. However, it's not like Garland Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
