The Spanish River Sharks will face off against the Coral Reef Barracudas at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spanish River is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Spanish River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Stoneman Douglas 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sharks have posted since March 4th.
Mirabel Jimenez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Jenna Domenici was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Boucher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Coral Reef put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Everything went their way against Goleman as they made off with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Barracudas, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Spanish River's record is now 14-6. As for Coral Reef, their record now sits at 18-5-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Spanish River hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. However, it's not like Coral Reef struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
