The Lakewood Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Blaine Borderites at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, everything went Lakewood's way against Cedar Park Christian as Lakewood made off with a 54-31 victory. The victory was just what Lakewood needed coming off of a 69-20 defeat in their prior contest.
Lakewood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was EMMA TOCCO, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Frankee Powers, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Blaine took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They put the hurt on Bellingham with a sharp 53-30 victory.
The losses dropped Lakewood to 2-2 and Cedar Park Christian to 0-2.
Lakewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Blaine when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 56-54. Will Lakewood repeat their success, or does Blaine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
