The Dewar Dragons had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Midway as Dewar made off with a 48-26 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Dewar, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Midway still got an impressive performance from Tristen Wolfe, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Wolfe scored a full 61.5% of Midway's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Dewar's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Midway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dewar will take on Hanna at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midway won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Graham/Dustin at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st.
