Cascade faced West Vigo in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cadets put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp  15-5 win. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Grace Gray made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up  five earned runs off   nine  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Lacie Godby was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. She is  on a roll when it comes to  hits, as she's  now  got three or more in each of the last three games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ava Allen, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base.
 Cascade was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .469 or higher in three consecutive  matches.
Cascade is  on a roll lately: they've  won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for West Vigo, they moved to 20-2 with that  loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cascade will take on Zionsville at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for West Vigo, they will be playing at home against Edgewood  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4  runs per game  this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
