Tippecanoe is 8-2 against Fairborn since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tippecanoe Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Fairborn Skyhawks at 8:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Tippecanoe earned a 50-37 win over West Carrollton.
Even though Fairborn has not done well against Sidney recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. It was close, but Fairborn ultimately received the gift of a 44-42 win from a begrudging Skyhawkssquad. The win made it back-to-back wins for they.
It was another big night for Taiyou Williams, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Sean Townsend was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Tippecanoe's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Fairborn, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Tippecanoe strolled past Fairborn in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 54-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tippecanoe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
