Centaurus is 1-9 against Silver Creek since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Warriors will host the Raptors at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Centaurus took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over Horizon. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the game before.
The team relied heavily on Ben Sehnert, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Charlie Manning, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
Centaurus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek entered their tilt with Frederick on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 9-5.
Silver Creek also got a great performance from Noah Richardson as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Nate Spiegel was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Nathen Canfield was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Silver Creek's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Centaurus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10-1.
Everything went Centaurus' way against Silver Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Centaurus made off with a 10-3 win. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raptors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
