Winning is just a little bit easier when you nail five more threes than your opponent, a fact North Cobb Christian proved on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-53 win over Therrell. Given North Cobb Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Panthers are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Gabe Bolden, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Robich, who scored six points along with seven assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Washington's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 76-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of KIPP Atlanta Collegiate. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (63), Washington still had to take the loss.
North Cobb Christian's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Washington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which lines up perfectly with their 4-12 record this season.
North Cobb Christian strolled past the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January by a score of 87-71. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Cobb Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
