After flying high against the Melbourne Bulldogs last Tuesday, the Satellite Scorpions came back down to earth. Satellite fell to Bayside 39-35. If Satellite hoped to take revenge for the 35-27 loss against they when the teams met on Thursday, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Satellite saw an underclassman step up: Alyna Lora dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Lora has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played.
Bayside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emilia Grant, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Donia Moaoui, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Satellite has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Bayside, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Satellite will take on Cocoa Beach at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Cocoa Beach is ranked 438th, while Satellite is ranked 436th). As for Bayside, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against West Shore at 7:00 p.m.
