Even though the Ocean Lakes Dolphins scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the First Colonial Patriots still came out on top. First Colonial took their contest against the Dolphins 63-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for First Colonial.
Despite the defeat, Ocean Lakes saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Walls scored no points along with 18 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Walls pulled down eight or more rebounds.
First Colonial is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season. As for Ocean Lakes, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Colonial will square off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Deep Creek will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Ocean Lakes, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Comets at 11:00 a.m. on February 3rd. Granby has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 17.
