Softball Recap: Cordova Wins Going Away Against Oakman

Cordova had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Oakman on Monday. Everything went the Cordova Blue Devils' way against the Oakman Wildcats as the Cordova Blue Devils made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won six games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Khloe Herron made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 12 matchups.

In other batting news, Lindsey Sanford was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Chloe Kacharos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Cordova always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakman only posted an OBP of .364.

Cordova's record now sits at 10-6. As for Oakman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Cordova will challenge Carbon Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oakman, they will welcome Dora at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dora has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.56 runs per game on average), something Oakman will no doubt try to take advantage of.
