The Graford Rabbits will face off against the Harrold Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Graford has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Graford came up short against Graham on Monday, falling 11-5. The Rabbits have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Savahannah Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Faith Perry, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harrold). They put the hurt on Quanah with a sharp 18-3 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Leeana H made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs but no hits. H was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Elizabeth P was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Abrianna A was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Harrold always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Harrold's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Graford, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
