This season hasn't been kind to the Peoria Christian Chargers, who are still winless after their 17th match. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 47-28 to Calvary Christian Academy. If Peoria Christian was looking for revenge after losing 49-26 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Peoria Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Abby Kilkenny and Lizzy Reeves. Kilkenny almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while Reeves scored four points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks. It was the first time this season that Reeves posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Ellenbecker, who scored six points.
Peoria Christian dropped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoria Christian will take on the Mallards at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they and the Cyclones will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
