This season hasn't been kind to the Tacony Academy Charter Lions, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They fell to Vaux Big Picture 44-38. Tacony Academy Charter lost against Vaux Big Picture in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 68-32 score last time.
Vaux Big Picture's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andre Hayward, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Hayward's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Rembert, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Tacony Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Vaux Big Picture, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tacony Academy Charter will face off against South Philadelphia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. South Philadelphia is on a three-game streak of home losses, Tacony Academy Charter an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Vaux Big Picture won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kensington at 3:15 p.m. on January 5th. Kensington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55 points per game.
