Basketball Recap: Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners, falling 56-35. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mariners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Despite the loss, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Kaydee Beachboard, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy and Bethel Christian will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gramercy Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Gramercy Christian is on a three-game streak of home wins, Pamlico Christian Academy a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
