4A District 1 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A District 1 this week, Anadarko beat Weatherford 56-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Warriors.
Elgin made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,516 from 6,062. The advance stemmed from a 34-24 victory over Piedmont last week.
Anadarko's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Pollard threw for 172 and 2 touchdowns and Matt Kaulaity had 50 yards receiving. On the ground RJ Sink chipped in 143 yards. Josh Parton helped Anadarko's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 50 yards.
Malik Boardingham was a key player and the best on defense this week as Kent Jackson's team beat the Eagles. The 6-foot-4 junior recorded 1 fumble and racked up 1 sack.
Pollard put up the best numbers through the air as the Warriors defeated Weatherford. Pollard's favorite target this week was Kaulaity, who caught 2 passes for 50 yards.
Anadarko's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pollard has thrown for 1,269 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Parton has 24 catches for 403 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Anadarko takes on the Owls. The Warriors are in first place, while Elgin is in fourth place.
