There's no place like home for Larned, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They slipped by the Kinsley Coyotes 56-55 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won three in a row.

Despite the loss, Kinsley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Joey Prieto shot 53% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Prieto is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Meza, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points.

The victory got Larned back to even at 1-1. As for Kinsley, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coming up, Larned will be taking part in a tournament against Hoisington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kinsley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-42 win against Bucklin on the 11th.
