The Auburn Riverside Ravens had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Jefferson with a 64-60 victory on Thursday. The win was just what Auburn Riverside needed coming off of a 74-32 loss in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburn Riverside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaiden Barba, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barba has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Freddie Boles, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Josias Kpontont, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Kpontont continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jakob Bolli, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Auburn Riverside's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Jefferson, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Auburn Riverside will square off against Kentlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kentlake is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Jefferson, they will be playing at home against Beamer at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Beamer's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
