The First Baptist Christian Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Alpha Omega Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for First Baptist Christian and four for Alpha Omega Academy.
First Baptist Christian suffered their closest loss since November 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Northland Christian by a score of 33-30.
Alpha Omega Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 54-14 loss at the hands of Rosehill Christian. While losing is never fun, Alpha Omega Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 978th, while Rosehill Christian is ranked 240th).
The losing side was boosted by Hannah Dunster, who scored six points along with three steals.
First Baptist Christian dropped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for Alpha Omega Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
First Baptist Christian came up short against Alpha Omega Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 39-30. Can First Baptist Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
