Basketball Recap: Kamari Blackshear Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Devils Win

There's no place like home for Hawkinsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 73-66 win over the Telfair County Trojans on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 30-30 at the break, but the Red Devils were the better team in the second half.

Hawkinsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamari Blackshear, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Blackshear a new career-high in boards. Bryson Singletary was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.

Hawkinsville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Hawkinsville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Telfair County, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

Bleckley County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hawkinsville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Telfair County, they will face off against Montgomery County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Telfair County likes a good challenge.
