Softball Recap: Nelson County Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Nelson County never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Thomas Nelson Generals 15-0. Considering the Cardinals have won six games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aaralynn Boblitt was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jorja Bartley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Nelson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Nelson County pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Thomas Nelson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nelson County will head out to square off against Bardstown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.43 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Thomas Nelson, they will venture away from home to face off against Bethlehem at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
