The Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 80-54 margin over Mission Vista. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-19.
Rancho Buena Vista found their leader in underclassman Cj Aldrich, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Aldrich is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trent Lotito, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Rancho Buena Vista is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Mission Vista, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Oceanside the next time they take the court. Rancho Buena Vista will host Oceanside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Mission Vista will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
