The Lewis-Palmer Rangers will square off against the Mead Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Lewis-Palmer was just a hair shy of victory and fell 27-26 to Holy Family. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Lewis-Palmer got top-tier performance from Greg Moore, who rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mead strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 55-6 win over Greeley West. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-0.
Lewis-Palmer better keep an eye on Ethan Elmore. He was instrumental in Mead's win, rushing for 54 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Mead was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
One reason for the win was Mead's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Owen Noe and Caleb Fahlin, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.
Lewis-Palmer's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mead, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Lewis-Palmer has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 278.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mead struggles in that department as they've been averaging 210.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Lewis-Palmer was dealt a bruising 31-0 defeat at the hands of Mead in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Rangers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
