The Guymon Tigers will square off against the Del City Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
15 must be Guymon's lucky number: they beat Marshall with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Tigers never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Andres Ozaeta was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Guymon is 4-2 when Ozaeta posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, Guymon got a massive performance out of Isaac Sandoval, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Sandoval a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Angelo Carrasco, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Guymon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .611. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Del City came into Thursday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 victory over Little Axe on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 2, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Kale Standifer, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Josh Hardeman was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Guymon and bumps their season record up to 8-15. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Del City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-23.
Guymon suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Del City in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
