The Reagan Bison scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Miami Springs with a sharp 38-18 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Reagan as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Reagan found their leader in underclassman Sophia Naranjo-palma, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine steals. It was the first time this season that Naranjo-palma scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Camila Reyes, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Reagan's victory ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15. As for Miami Springs, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.
Reagan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Gators at 3:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Goleman's defense has only allowed 26.3 points per game this season, so the Bison's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Miami Springs, they will take on the Wildcats at TBD on Monday.
