The Phoenix Spartans will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Jehovah-Jireh Warriors at 6:15 p.m. Phoenix knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Jehovah-Jireh likes a good challenge.
Phoenix put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-36 victory over First Baptist Christian at home. With Phoenix ahead 46-18 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Phoenix's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KALAN BUSH led the charge by scoring 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points BUSH has scored all season. Another player making a difference was DERVONTE ANCAR, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Jehovah-Jireh scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 64-16 win over Louisiana School for the Deaf. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Phoenix's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Jehovah-Jireh, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-16.
Everything went Phoenix's way against Jehovah-Jireh when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as Phoenix made off with a 83-63 win. Will Phoenix repeat their success, or does Jehovah-Jireh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
