Stone Memorial is 8-2 against Cumberland County since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Stone Memorial Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Cumberland County Jets at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Stone Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Even though Livingston Academy scored an imposing 58 points, Stone Memorial still came out on top. Stone Memorial took their match against Livingston Academy 65-58.
Cade Capps continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Stone Memorial's points. Another player making a difference was Brady Lane, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cumberland County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 49-31 to White County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cumberland County has scored all season.
Stone Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Cumberland County, they bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Stone Memorial against Cumberland County when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 83-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stone Memorial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
