The St. Andrew's Cardinals lost against the Sanford Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. St. Andrew's took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sanford. While losing is never fun, St. Andrew's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Sanford is ranked fifth).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Taylor, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marquis Newson, who scored eight points along with two steals.
St. Andrew's dropped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Sanford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Andrew's will face off against Tatnall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sanford, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilmington Friends at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
