Meanwhile, Flanagan fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against West Broward on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 4-3. The Falcons' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
Miguel Colmenares was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Colmenares was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Brandon Padro was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.
Colmenares wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Chavez, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Chavez's first of the season.

Cardinal Gibbons' speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. Cardinal Gibbons has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Flanagan, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Cardinal Gibbons continue to outrun the ball?
Cardinal Gibbons skirted past Flanagan 6-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Cardinal Gibbons have another victory up their sleeve, or will Flanagan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
