East Chicago Central had won five straight games and Dominique Murphy did his part to make it six on Saturday. The East Chicago Central Cardinals blew past the Hanover Central Wildcats 78-55 for which the team can thank Murphy, who almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine rebounds. His afternoon made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Jamarie Pollard, who went 5-for-9 en route to 12 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

East Chicago Central's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Hanover Central, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-13.

Looking ahead, East Chicago Central will challenge Delta at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Chicago Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Delta likes a good challenge. Hanover Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
