ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. -
Adamsville (Tenn.) jumped out to an early lead against
McNairy Central (Selmer, Tenn.) and never looked back on the way to a 26-14 victory on Saturday.
The Cardinals put up 19 points in the opening quarter. Adamsville scored on a touchdown run by
Chris Irons, a
Zak Neary touchdown run and a
Seth Paul touchdown pass to
Jacob Wallis.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Neary in the first quarter, AHS led 19-14 at the half.
The Cardinals expanded their lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter. Adamsville scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by Paul to Wallis.
When the two teams played each other last season, AHS came away with a 47-22 victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Cardinals, who were coming off a 28-21 defeat at the hands of Trinity Christian Academy in its previous game.
