Baseball Recap: Sterling Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Sterling barely beat Lee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rangers put the hurt on the Ganders with a sharp 15-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Sawyer Wells looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joshua Montemayor, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Marron, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

The win (which was Sterling's third in a row) raised their record to 17-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-19.

Sterling didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-0 win against Port Arthur Memorial on the 14th. As for Lee, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-0 loss against Port Neches-Groves on the 14th.
