A well-balanced attack led Soap Lake over Pateros in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Soap Lake blew Pateros out of the water with a 58-6 final score. Soap Lake pushed the score to 46-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Pateros had no chance of recovering from.
Samuel Schopf went supernova for Soap Lake, rushing for 255 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Trey Landdeck also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Soap Lake's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Grayson Pippens and Schopf who racked up six sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Mary Walker's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over Davenport. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Mary Walker's 12-point performance the matchup before.
Soap Lake is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Mary Walker, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
