The Lewis County Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 78-45 loss at the hands of Mt. Pleasant. While losing is never fun, Lewis County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Mt. Pleasant is ranked 177th).
Mt. Pleasant's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hayden Holt, who scored 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Ryan Benderman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Lewis County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Lewis County will be playing at home against Loretto at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will head out on the road to take on Summertown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Summertown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 20 matchups.
