The Kewanee Boilermakers will take on the Monmouth United Red Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Kewanee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Kewanee will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Sherrard, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Boilermakers walked away with an 11-6 win over the Tigers on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Boilermakers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Colson Welgat, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Kewanee's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 9-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Griffin Hicks, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Monmouth United came tearing into Saturday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Blue Bullets get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Storm, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Knoxville's batters probably weren't too happy with Tanner Rogers, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (he gave up four walks). Rogers has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Elliott Copeland was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Chance Stewart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Monmouth United pushed their record up to 25-4 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Kewanee, their victory bumped their record up to 11-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kewanee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monmouth United struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
