Millikan is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Villa Park is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Millikan Rams will take on the Villa Park Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Millikan took their game at home with ease, bagging a 36-7 victory over Cabrillo. With Millikan ahead 30-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Jp Mialovski continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 278 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Samson Khan, who gained 88 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Villa Park was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Brea Olinda 57-6 on the road. Given Villa Park's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Brea Olinda is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nate Lewis was on fire: he threw for 414 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 17.3 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Hoggard, who picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Millikan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Villa Park, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the pair have no problem gaining yardage. Millikan has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 365.6 total yards per game. However, it's not like Villa Park struggles in that department as they've been even better at 367.1 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
