Delta is 0-10 against Greenfield-Central since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Delta's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Greenfield-Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Delta's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Madison-Grant 10-0. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Maddox Huffman looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Neal, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Ritchie, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Delta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison-Grant only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, Greenfield-Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Noblesville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Millers by a score of 8-7. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Greenfield-Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zander Cobb, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Hayden Kidd was another, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Delta's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Greenfield-Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Delta has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Greenfield-Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Delta couldn't quite get it done against Greenfield-Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
