The Sparks Railroaders's game on Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 48-47 victory over Pershing County. For Sparks, this counts as revenge for the 47-43 defeat Pershing County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2016.
Sparks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Flores, who scored 21 points along with 3 steals. Adrian Banuelos Puga was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 10 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Pershing County still got an impressive performance from Michael Reitz, who scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The contest was Reitz's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Montes, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Sparks' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Pershing County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Sparks is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Fernley at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. Fernley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sparks in Nevada (Fernley is ranked 23rd, while Sparks is ranked 91st). As for Pershing County, they will take on Beatty at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
