South Bend St. Joseph is 0-1 against NorthWood since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Bend St. Joseph Indians will be playing at home against the NorthWood Panthers at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, South Bend St. Joseph was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 16-10 to Mishawaka Marian.
Meanwhile, NorthWood had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They didn't even let Goshen onto the board and left with a 22-0 win. The result was nothing new for NorthWood, who have now won five matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead NorthWood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nitro Tuggle, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Perry, who rushed for 124 yards.
South Bend St. Joseph has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. NorthWood has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first nine matches, giving them a 7-2 record.
South Bend St. Joseph was taken down by NorthWood 52-24 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can South Bend St. Joseph avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
