The Ray Bearcats will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Superior Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Ray focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
Ray's six-game losing streak came to an end. They came out on top against The Gregory School by a score of 41-29. The victory was just what Ray needed coming off of a 34-12 defeat in their prior game.
Ray got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josselyn Lechuga out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lechuga has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elaina Figueroa, who scored six points along with two steals.
Superior suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Joseph City, falling 56-10. Superior has struggled against Joseph City recently, as their match on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Ray's victory bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Superior, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Everything went Ray's way against Superior when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Ray made off with a 36-10 victory. Does Ray have another victory up their sleeve, or will Superior turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
