Decatur is a perfect 5-0 against Burkburnett since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Decatur will be playing in front of their home fans against Burkburnett at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Decatur's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Burkburnett has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
If Decatur beats Burkburnett with 14 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Decatur was the clear victor by a 14-1 margin over Lake Worth on Friday.

Blaze Grider tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Decatur is 2-1 when Grider posts eight or more strikeouts, but 8-12-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Jed Ross was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. James Mahoney was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Decatur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Burkburnett came up short against Castleberry on Friday, falling 8-2.
Seth Hoyle was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mason Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Decatur has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. Burkburnett's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Decatur came out on top in a nail-biter against Burkburnett in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Does Decatur have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burkburnett turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
