Calais is 8-0 against Machias since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Calais Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Machias Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Calais had to suffer through a rough 66-30 loss at the hands of Penobscot Valley.
Calais' defeat came about despite a quality game from Kate McPhee, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Scott, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Machias put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 53-35 win over Sumner.
Calais now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Machias, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Calais strolled past Machias in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 53-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calais since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
