Lighthouse Prep Academy is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Applewood Christian. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Noah Fowler, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Mietzner, who posted nine points.
Meanwhile, Christian Fellowship humbled La Monte with a 63-31 victory. Christian Fellowship has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.
Lighthouse Prep Academy better focus on containing Jake Davis and Brett Conklin as the pair were huge in Christian Fellowship's win. Davis went 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven assists and four steals, while Conklin went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Davis' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Aslanidis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.
Lighthouse Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Christian Fellowship, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Thursday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Lighthouse Prep Academy has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Christian Fellowship struggles in that department as they've made 37.5% of their three-pointers this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Lighthouse Prep Academy was taken down by Christian Fellowship 84-40 in their previous matchup back in November. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Christian Fellowship's Luke Davis, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points and six steals.
